Maulana Imran Nazar Hosein:
He is a graduate of the Aleemiyah Institute in Karachi and has studied at several institutions of higher learning including the University of Karachi,the University of the West Indies, Al Azhar University and the Graduate Institute of International Relations in Switzerland. He worked for several years as a Foreign Service Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago but gave up his job in 1985 to devote his life to the mission of Islam. He lectured on Islam in several American and Canadian universities, colleges, churches, synagogues, prisons, community halls, etc. He also participated in many inter-faith dialogues with Christian and Jewish scholars while representing Islam in USA. He was the Imam, for sometime, at Masjid Dar al-Qur’an in Long Island, New York. He also led the weekly Juma’ah prayers and delivered the sermon at the United Nations headquarters in Manhattan once a month for ten years continuously. He is a former Principal of the Aleemiyah Institute of Islamic Studies in Karachi, Pakistan, Director of Research of the World Muslim Congress in Karachi, Pakistan, Director of the Islamic Institute for Education and Research in Miami, Florida, and Director of D’awah for Tanzeem-e-Islami of North America.
He has travelled continuously and extensively around the world on Islamic lecture-tours since graduating from the Aleemiyah Institute of Islamic Studies in 1971 at age 29, with Ijazatul Ilm and receiving the Dr Ansari Gold Medal for High Merit. He has also written more than a dozen books on Islam that have invariably been received with public respect. Amongst his best selling books are ‘Jerusalem in the Qur’an – An Islamic View of the Destiny of Jerusalem, Surah al Kahf in the Modern Age, An Islamic View of Gog and Magog in the Modern Age.

Afroz Ali is the Founder and President of Al-Ghazzali Centre for Islamic Sciences & Human Development, based in Sydney, Australia. He is a qualified Imam in the Islamic Tradition, having studied under Traditional Islam and received licence to teach in various Islamic Sciences. His studies have taken him from university-based Islamic University- Madina, Saudi Arabia then moving towards Traditional Scholarship in Yemen, United States and Mauritania, where he has spent considerable time to learn from the most esteemed Rightly Guided Islamic Scholars of our time. Shaykh Ali Mustafa Seinpal:
He is a graduate of the Aleemiya Institute (under Dr Ansari), originally from the Island of Surinam in South America. He was the Imam of Gabarone Masjid in Botswana for several years and also taught at the Aleemiyah Institute in Pakistan. At present he teaches at As Salaam in Kwazulu Natal.
Maulana Ali Khan:
Born in Durban and matriculated before proceeding to Karachi, Pakistan to enroll at the Aleemiyah Institute of Islamic Studies which was founded by His Eminence Mawlana Dr Fazlur Rahman Ansari al-Qaderi. He was a colleague of Ml Imran Hossein and during his stay in Karachi, he attained Darajat al-Ijazat al-Aliyah from Aleemiyah Institute of Islamic Studies as well as B.A. in Economics and Sociology and M.A. in Islamic Studies from the University of Karachi. He finally returned to Durban in 1974 and took up a post as the Imam of the Reservoir Hills Masjid before gaining employment in the Department of Arabic, Urdu and Persian at the University of Durban-Westville. He was also awarded the B.A. (Hons.) degree in Urdu at the same University. He retired from the Department of Arabic, Urdu and Persian at the University of Durban-Westville after having served it for 18 years.
Imam Irshaad Soofie Siddique:
Imam of the Pietermaritzburg Central Masjid, he is the great grandson of Soofie Saheb, a teacher of the Chisti Nizami Spiritual Order and an author of several books.

Professor Mohammad Tariq Kahn:
Mohamed-Tariq Ekeramodien Kahn, was born in Worcester, South Africa, the son of Shaykh Mohamed Ekeramodien, the son of Maulana Shaykh Ekeramodien of Samarqand. Ekeramodien is known as an Uzbek family name Ikramov in Uzbekistan. According to Maulana Shaykh Ekeramodien his family line is Shibanid (Shaybanid) related through the line of Juji to Ghingiz Khan. Mohamed-Tariq is a Full Professor of Electrical Engineering (Distributed Power and Electronic Systems), and is the author of 5 Engineering Monograms, a University level textbook called “Concise Higher Electrical Engineering”, as well as over 200 refereed scientific journal and conference proceedings papers. He is one of the organisers of 8 international anual conferences such as the “Domestic Use of Energy Conference” and the “Industrial and Commercial use of Energy Conference.” Mohamed-Tariq Ekeramodien holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Engineering and is the supervisor of over 30 Masters and Doctoral Students in Electrical Engineering. Professor Ekeramodien is an avid reader, is active in the local community and conducts lectures nationally and abroad on specialist topics as well as orhtodox Islamic economics, social justice and societal change. He was the Imam Khatib of Salamudeen Masjid for 2 years from 2004 to 2006. He used to belong to Murabitun but has since left that group and works with the Islamic Network as well as The African Institute for Local Governance.
Moulana Riedewaan Mathews
He is the executive director of the Muslim Assembly and a graduate of the Aleemiyah Institute (under Ml Imran Hosein).
Shaykh Sadullah Khan
Sadullah Khan has studied Law in South Africa, Journalism in Britain and Religious Studies in Egypt. He has presented papers at numerous international conferences in Malaysia, Belgium, Nigeria, Egypt, USA, Iran, Botswana, Canada, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Mexico and Turkey. He is the author of Dimensions of the Qur’an and co-translator of classical Arabic text Risalatul Mustarshideen/Epistle for the Seekers of Guidance. He has appeared on SABC, NBC, History Channel, IIS, Turkish TV; has presented weekly radio programs on Voice of the Cape in South Africa as well as a weekly television program in USA “from the Streets of LA to the Hearts of the World”. Founder of the Islamic College of Southern Africa (now International Peace Varsity of South Africa) where he also headed the Qur’anic Sciences Department from 1990-98. He has spearheaded youth development programs in South Africa and the USA for two decades; has been an inspiring religious leader, family counsellor as well an educator for the past 25 years. Sadullah Khan served as Lecturer for the Academy of Judaic, Christian and Islamic Studies at UCLA, Director Muslim Affairs at USC.
Currently, he is the Director of Impower Development International and serves as a motivational speaker; addressing issues of personal empowerment, youth development, leadership training, art of communication, and the fostering of inter-faith/intra-faith understanding and co-operation.
